What are the precautions for the installation of the level meter?

Whether the radar level gauge can measure correctly depends on the reflected wave signal. If the liquid level cannot reflect electromagnetic wave back to the radar antenna or there are interferers in the range of signal wave to reflect interference wave to the radar level gauge, the radar level gauge cannot reflect the actual liquid level correctly. Therefore, reasonable selection of installation position is very important for radar level meter, and the following points should be paid attention to during installation:

(1) The axis of radar level meter antenna should be perpendicular to the reflecting surface of liquid level.

(2) If the stirrer in the tank, the adhesive of the tank wall and the ladder are within the signal range of the radar level gauge, they will produce interference reflected waves and affect the level measurement. During installation, appropriate installation positions should be selected to avoid interference from these factors.

(3) The trumpet mouth of the horn type radar level gauge should exceed a certain distance (>10mm) on the inner surface of the mounting hole. The antenna of the rod level meter should extend out of the mounting hole, and the length of the mounting hole should not exceed 100mm. For round or elliptic containers, it should be installed at a distance of 1/2r (R is the radius of the container) from the center, not at the center of the top of the round or elliptic container, otherwise, after multiple reflection of the container wall, the radar wave will converge at the center of the top of the container, forming a strong interference wave, which will affect the accurate measurement.

(4) For the liquid level measurement of containers with large liquid level fluctuations, a level gauge with bypass pipe can be used to reduce the impact of liquid level fluctuations. After installation, the PC equipped with software can be used to observe the reflected wave curve to judge whether the installation of the level gauge is appropriate. If not, the installation position can be further adjusted until it is satisfied.

For some of the installation location is inevitable interference wave, still can use false wave radar level gauge identification function, level gauge to interfere with reflected wave, according to the practical liquid level identified coexist in the internal database of radar level gauge, the radar level gauge can identify these interference during data processing, remove the interference with the influence of reflection wave, ensure the accuracy of measurement.
